Tagged as the fifth among the regions in the Philippines,
Bicol rests along the south-eastern tip of the island of Luzon.
Predominantly rural, many of Bicol’s striking features are its pristine landscapes and natural attractions, chief among them the magnificent Mayon Volcano in Legazpi City, Albay.
On recent years however as the area started to be developed and its potential unearthed, many of Bicol’s finest are starting to be put in the limelight, one of which is the now-famous Whale-shark (locally known as Butanding) interaction based in Donsol, Sorsogon. Aside from the two already mentioned, Bicol boasts of a plethora of other eye-worthy destinations, such as the Misibis, Caramoan and Calaguas Islands that rivals that even of Boracay itself. Ligñon and Kawa-kawa Hills are also becoming tourist hubs, with panoramic views that enthralls even the most damp-spirited. With unexplored and untainted lands and lore still awaiting human interests, Bicol remains a treasure trove of natural beauty.
